A Prophet Scorned? Ralph Wigram, the Foreign Office and the German Threat, 1933-36University of East Anglia This article focuses on Wigrams traditional image as a supporter of Winston Churchills anti-appeasement line from his position as Head of the Central Department in the Foreign Office. It questions the traditional portrayal of Wigram and argues that he was much more in the Foreign Office appeasement mainstream than is frequently suggested.
